Zinc

Zinc is a London-based venture builder in the United Kingdom that creates and backs Science-for-Impact companies, meaning startups that turn scientific research into products for human health and the environment. It works through three channels: building new ventures, developing founder talent, and running innovation partnerships with organisations that want to solve specific problems. Its new Science-for-Impact Fund is aligned with the UK Industrial Strategy priorities of advanced manufacturing, clean energy and life sciences, and supports deep tech companies from their earliest formation through scaling. Zinc focuses on ambitious founders, including scientists and technical specialists, who want to commercialise research that addresses social and environmental problems. The fund targets 70 million pounds and secured its cornerstone commitment in September 2026. Founders get access to a network of Visiting Fellows from business, academia, design, technology and the public sector, certified executive coaches, and introductions to partners and investors.
