2026 EUA Annual Conference: University cooperation in changing contexts

The 2026 European University Association (EUA) Annual Conference is held April 16–17, 2026 at Yeditepe University in Istanbul, Türkiye, under the theme "University cooperation in changing contexts." Hosted in Türkiye for the first time in the Association's history, the 29th General Assembly and Annual Conference convenes rectors, vice-rectors, policymakers, university administrators, and higher-education researchers from nearly 900 EUA member universities across more than 40 European countries. The program explores how geopolitics, rapid technological change, sustainability imperatives, and economic pressures are reshaping why, how, and with whom universities cooperate. Sessions examine partnerships between institutions, alliances with the public sector, industry, and civil society, and local, national, and international collaboration models — including the European Universities initiative. The event combines plenary debates, interactive practice presentations, and the EUA General Assembly, providing a unique venue for shaping European higher-education strategy.
