Bezos Earth Fund

The Bezos Earth Fund is a philanthropic grantmaking foundation established in 2020 by Jeff Bezos with a $10 billion commitment to be fully disbursed by 2030. Headquartered in Washington, DC, it funds scientists, NGOs, universities, research institutions, and coalitions working on climate change and nature protection globally. Its seven program areas are: Conserving & Restoring Nature, Future of Food, Environmental Justice, Decarbonizing Energy & Industry, Economics/Finance & Markets, Next Technologies, and Monitoring/Data & Accountability. As of 2026, the Fund has awarded approximately $2.4 billion across 371 grants. Individual grant sizes vary widely — from $50,000 Phase I awards under its AI Grand Challenge to multi-hundred-million-dollar tranches. The Fund does not issue formal RFPs; grantees are identified proactively through existing networks and relationships. It operates globally, with funded projects spanning North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
