The IUFRO International Conference on the Influence of Air Pollution and Climate Change on Forest Dynamics took place September 1–5, 2025, at venues in Split, Croatia, convening 70 international forest research scientists and ecosystem specialists from 26 countries under the auspices of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO). The conference brought together leading experts to advance understanding of complex interactions between air pollution, climate change, and forest ecosystem health through scientific presentations, joint sessions, and knowledge exchange. Featured session topics included air pollution impacts on Mediterranean ecosystems, urban greening strategies for air quality improvement and biodiversity enhancement, ecosystem monitoring and climate risk assessment frameworks, tropospheric ozone threats to terrestrial ecosystems, atmospheric deposition and radioactive contamination consequences, and genetic and physiological mechanisms underlying forest stress responses. Social programming included a dinner reception and full-day field excursion to the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site of Plitvice Lakes.
