Modi Ventures is a Houston-based early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2022, investing at the intersection of artificial intelligence, biology, and medical technology. Headquartered at TMC Helix Park within the Texas Medical Center, the firm backs both funds and founders building companies in areas including AI-driven drug discovery, multiomics, precision medicine, gene editing, synthetic biology, and living therapies. Modi Ventures closed its oversubscribed second fund at $88 million in July 2025, bringing total committed capital to over $134 million. Its first fund raised over $30 million in 2023. The portfolio spans approximately 38 investments and 30 funds, with notable fund investments in Khosla Ventures, Section 32, Artis Ventures, and Flagship Pioneering, and direct company investments including Groq, Generate Biomedicines, Proxima, and Ozlo. The firm is led by founder and sole general partner Sahir Ali, a technology and healthcare leader with deep expertise in AI, medical imaging, and enterprise technology.
