Ohio Third Frontier Program TVSF

The Ohio Third Frontier Technology Validation and Start-up Fund (TVSF) supports the creation and growth of startup companies that commercialize technologies developed at Ohio universities and research institutions. Phase 1 provides up to $1M for research institutions to validate prototypes and test proof-of-concept, while Phase 2 offers $200,000 for startups to license and commercialize the technology. Eligible Phase 1 applicants must have a dedicated Technology Transfer Office and patent-protected technology, while Phase 2 applicants must be existing startups licensing IP from an Ohio institution. Awardees must match 25% of requested funding, and the program covers sectors including AI, biotech, and advanced materials.
