Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit Conference

The Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit Conference is a biennial international forum on Arctic research, sustainable development, and climate resilience held in Rovaniemi, Finland. Organized by the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland and the City of Rovaniemi, the conference brings together Arctic researchers, policymakers, Indigenous peoples, scientists, and civil society leaders to deliberate on critical issues affecting the Arctic region and global sustainability. The 2025 conference addressed "Elements of Arctic Security." The forum serves as a major international convening where participants share research findings, policy innovations, and community-based solutions related to Arctic climate change, environmental protection, and sustainable resource management. Sessions address glacier preservation, climate adaptation in northern communities, Indigenous knowledge systems, nature-based solutions, and regional cooperation.
