World Water Week 2026 (Stockholm)

World Water Week 2026, held August 23-27, 2026, in Stockholm, Sweden, is the annual global flagship platform convening policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and civil society leaders to advance equitable water security and accelerate progress toward UN Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation). Organized by multiple UN-Water partners in collaboration with Swedish universities and international organizations, World Water Week brings together 2,000+ participants from 100+ countries to discuss water-related challenges, water-smart innovation, climate adaptation, water finance, and integrated water resource management. The week features plenary sessions, thematic workshops, research showcases, and high-level policy dialogues addressing global water crises, transboundary water cooperation, urban water resilience, and water-food-energy nexus solutions. World Water Week has become the definitive convening space for the global water community, enabling multistakeholder dialogue, knowledge synthesis, partnership formation, and alignment on water security as a cornerstone of sustainable development.
