Innovation Works (Pittsburgh) - Scalable Grants

Innovation Works is the Pittsburgh region's most active early-stage investor and supporter, offering Scalable Grants of up to $25,000 as reimbursement funding to help hardware entrepreneurs partner with local manufacturers in southwestern Pennsylvania. Eligible startups must be Pennsylvania-based and working with small to mid-sized manufacturers in one of nine eligible counties (Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Washington, or Westmoreland). Beyond the Scalable Grant, Innovation Works has invested $93M in 372 companies since 1999 through its seed fund. Funding typically takes 10-12 weeks from application to receipt, with grantees required to identify eligible manufacturing expenses exceeding 2x the reimbursement cap.
