Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change – Annual Forum 2026

The EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change Fifth Forum was originally planned for May 28, 2026, in Nicosia, Cyprus, under the Cypriot EU Presidency, convening researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and investors working to accelerate European adaptation solutions across agriculture, water management, urban resilience, coastal protection, and disaster risk reduction. The Forum was designed to unite stakeholders across Horizon Europe research programs and regional adaptation initiatives to share innovations in nature-based adaptation, financing mechanisms, transnational collaboration, and mainstreaming adaptation into EU policy frameworks. However, Mission management cancelled the May 2026 in-person Forum following evolving geopolitical circumstances. The Mission continues work through project networks and regional adaptation fora. Practitioners active in EU climate adaptation should consult the official EU Mission portal for updates on alternative engagement opportunities and upcoming coordinated activities.
