NIH SEED Program

NIH SEED (Small business Education and Entrepreneurial Development) is the central coordinating office for the NIH's $1.4 billion-per-year small business life science funding programs, including SBIR/STTR grants and entrepreneurial support services. Beyond funding, SEED provides product development guidance, entrepreneurial training, and private-sector partnership opportunities to help biomedical researchers commercialize their discoveries. The office also manages the REACH (Research Evaluation and Commercialization Hubs) program, which supports proof-of-concept activities at the earliest stages. Startups and researchers across all biomedical fields are eligible, with the goal of transforming health discoveries into commercially viable products that improve public health.
